The second episode of the romance drama series " Kimi wa Mendou na Konyakusha, " produced by TV Asahi and the video distribution service "TELASA," starring Natsuki Hori of the dance and vocal group "FANTASTICS from EXILE TRIBE" and actress Momoko Tanabe , began airing on March 10th.
The drama is based on the popular manga (Hakusensha) of the same name by Midori Shiino and Monaka Usayama. It is a frustrating and heart-pounding love story about an office romance between a high-spec elite employee and the daughter of a company president who are constantly at odds with each other. The six-episode "Diamond Edition" has been streaming on TELASA since March 3rd. The "Platinum Edition," a special edited version of the "Diamond Edition" that includes behind-the-scenes footage of the drama and comments from the cast, will be broadcast on TV Asahi from 1:30 a.m. on March 28th.
Kajiya Shino (Tanabe), the daughter of the president of Kajiya Foods, a long-established Western confectionery manufacturer, and a member of the public relations department in her fourth year at the company, has a fiance whom her father, the president, arranged for them to marry for political reasons. Her fiance is Tachibana Hajime (Hori), the ace of the sales department at the same company. Appearance, personality, specs... her perfect fiance is flawless and has it all, but he is also someone who shakes Shino's emotions on a daily basis. Even after three years of their engagement, Tachibana still refuses to move on from kissing, and one day, a new employee, Hanazawa Yui ( Oto Abe), is assigned to the sales department. Shino feels her heart flutter when she sees Tachibana interacting with Yui as a supervisor... This is the story.
In the second episode, at the end of the first episode, Shino confesses her true feelings to Tachibana, who refuses to move beyond the kiss, saying, "You won't hold me, will you?" Shino is shocked by Tachibana's shocking declaration, "Okay, I'll hold you," but she finally gives in to him. The next morning, when she wakes up and looks at Tachibana's sleeping face beside her, Tachibana suddenly wakes up and embraces Shino, murmuring, "I had no intention of ever holding you..."
The next day, Shino came home early and went to work with mixed feelings. When she went to deliver something to the sales department, she heard that Tachibana and new employee Hanazawa were on a business trip to Hakone alone, and she became anxious again. Meanwhile, Shino is presenting a PR plan for the company's new product, "Oshidori Sable Fruit Flavor." Shino is excited because it is a joint project with the sales department, but when Yui returns from her business trip, she is shown a photo of the two of them, Tachibana, as if they were on a couple's trip, and she is quietly hurt. In February, the original author Shiino and Usayama visited the set, where they met Hori, Tanabe, and Abe, who plays Yui. Upon seeing Tachibana, Shino, and Yui "moving," the two were deeply impressed, saying, "I was moved by how detailed everyone's eye acting was" (Shiino), and "The level of reproduction was so amazing that I could tell which scene was being shown even without the sound!" (Usayama). Hori, Tanabe, and the others had also thoroughly read the original work, and the five of them were engaged in lively conversations, with people saying things like, "Tachibana is..." and "Shino is actually..."
Hori, who had been told by the producer to "make sure you have six-pack abs" before filming began, immediately responded when Shiino and Usayama asked him about it, saying, "I'm fully prepared so that I'll be ready whenever I'm asked!" The original authors presented the three cast members with illustrations of their characters that were based on the drama version, and they were overwhelmed, saying, "So cute" (Tanabe) and "So happy" (Hori).
