It has been announced that actor and "BE:FIRST" member Ryoki Miyama will appear in the April TBS Friday drama "Ignite -Law's Outlaw-" (Fridays at 10pm) starring Shotaro Mamiya. Miyama, who gave a great performance as the younger brother of the main character Torako (played by Sari Ito) in the NHK Asadora drama "The Tiger and Her Wings", will play lawyer Toma Takaido.
Ryo Uzaki (Mamiya), a reckless but righteous novice lawyer, jumps into the dubious law firm "Peace Law Firm," known in the area as "lawless." He literally "ignites" the hearts of potential plaintiffs, leading them to sue. And it turns out they are a "legal outlaw group" that uses all means to win the case...
Takaido, played by Miyama, is a brilliant man who passed the bar exam at the young age of 19. Although he is a modern man who looks at things with a somewhat cold eye, he excels at finding hidden facts with his high intelligence and information gathering ability.
The cast of Toru Nakamura and Moka Kamishiraishi has also been announced. Nakamura will play Kenjiro Todoroki, the representative of the "Peace Law Firm," and Kamishiraishi will play Mari Inoo, the only female lawyer at the firm.
◇Comment from Toru Nakamura
Up until now, lawyer dramas have often focused on helping victims or those falsely accused, but I think "Ignite" is a new type of drama in which lawyers themselves create work with the idea that "it's okay to start a dispute."
Todoroki, the character I play, is the leader of the Peace Law Firm, which prioritizes money and instigates lawsuits with the aim of making a huge profit. Each episode depicts a trial that has a different outcome, so I think you'll enjoy each and every episode. Also, the four of us have a past that is not easily revealed, which will have a big impact on the story as it progresses, so I think you'll find it even more interesting if you watch all the episodes!
◇Comment from Moka Kamishiraishi
Lawyer dramas have a reputation for being a little intimidating, but I think this drama has a wide appeal and can be enjoyed by viewers. It starts off with a pop atmosphere, but before you know it, it progresses to serious scenes and scenes that touch on the subtleties of the human heart, which is very interesting. Each episode is self-contained, so the color of each episode changes depending on the guest, and there are many different developments. This is my first time playing a lawyer, and the character I play, Ino, is a very clever, charming and wonderful woman. She shows a dignified attitude in the courtroom, but is extremely free outside of that, and I think of myself as a ``wild, outgoing person'' who stirs up trouble for everyone.
The filming is progressing with great teamwork, so I think we're making something great. I hope you'll look forward to a Friday night that will be sometimes suspenseful and sometimes heartwarming!
◇ Comment from Ryouki Miyama
The character I play, Takaido, may seem cool at first glance, but if you look into his inner world, he is a multifaceted character, so I think I need to portray him delicately. I would be happy if you could enjoy the gap between Takaido's appearance and his humanity, and I would like to play him in that way.
This drama carefully depicts the process leading up to the trial and why the situation has come to be, and I think it is a work that draws out the complex feelings of humans. Although it is a legal drama, it is portrayed from a different perspective than previous works, and there are many parts that appeal to people's emotions! I think it is a work that will move you, so I hope you will watch it!
