The first half (episode 18) of the final special episode of the popular detective drama "Aibou Season 23" (TV Asahi, Wednesday 9pm) titled "The Monster and the Holy Sword" was broadcast on March 5th, garnering an average viewership rating (according to Video Research, Kanto region, same below) of 10.1% for households and 5.9% for individuals.
"Aibou" is a detective drama that began in 2000, in which Ukyo Sugishita (Yutaka Mizutani), a member of the Metropolitan Police Department's "Special Mission Unit," solves a number of difficult cases with his partner, using his genius mind to solve them. This will be the 10th season for the pairing of Ukyo and Kameyama Kaoru (Yasufumi Terawaki).
In episode 18, Ukyo (Mizutani Yutaka) and Kaoru (Terawaki Yasufumi) are called into the Integrated Investigation Headquarters for Anonymous Mobile Crimes. They believe that the series of incidents is connected to huge vested interests and confront Tokyo Governor Ichioka (Katagiri Jin). Meanwhile, mysterious figures such as Kihara Kenji (Hirayama Yusuke), who seems to have a connection to the incidents, and Ura Kamika (Maiguma Katsuya), a man who has been approaching Ukyo in an unnatural way, begin to quietly make their move...
