Former Takarazuka Revue Yuki Troupe top star Futo Nozomi appeared on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi) broadcast on February 21. He talked about how falling in love with Yuki Amami was what inspired him to aim for Takarazuka.
My aunt is a big fan of Takarazuka. I'm the only woman in my family. "I think she's always been aiming for it." When I was 10 years old, she asked me, "Do you want to go see Takarazuka?" I first watched a video, and she took me to the Takarazuka theater in Tokyo. The first performance I saw made me think, "I want to be in this." "If I can have this much fun when I grow up, that's what I want to do," I thought, and started aiming for Takarazuka.
At the time, Yuki Amami played a female role in a play. I was watching thinking she was a beautiful woman, but then she came out as a male role in the second part of the show. I was surprised that such a beautiful woman could become such a cool man, and I said, "I fell in love with Yuki Amami, and I always wanted to play the same male role as Yuki Amami, and become like Yuki Amami."
