It has been announced that advance screenings of the new TV anime "Shin Samurai Den YAIBA," based on the manga "YAIBA" by Gosho Aoyama, who is known for " Detective Conan " and other works, will be held at 10 TOHO Cinemas nationwide on March 13th. The screenings will be held at 10 locations across the country, including Shinjuku, Susukino, Sendai, LaLaport Yokohama, Hamamatsu, Akaike, Namba, Nijo, Midorii, and Tenjin Solaria, and will include screenings of episodes 1 to 3, as well as a video of a luxurious roundtable discussion between Aoyama, director Hasui Takahiro, and character designer and chief animation director Kameda Yoshinori.
"YAIBA" is a swordplay action manga that was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Sunday" (Shogakukan) from 1988 to 1993, before Aoyama began serializing " Detective Conan". It depicts the exploits of Yaiba Kurogane, an unconventional young swordsman who trains in the jungle with his father. The story follows Tsubasa, who returns to Japan by chance and strives to become even stronger in his new training ground... This is the story. A total of 24 volumes of the comic have been released, with a total circulation of about 17 million copies.
The new anime will be fully supervised by the original author Aoyama, and will be fully animated after about 30 years since the series was completed. Following on from the TV anime "Yaiba: The Legend of Swordsman" which aired from 1993 to 1994, Takayama will play the main character, Yaiba. It will be produced by WIT STUDIO, known for "Attack on Titan" and "SPY×FAMILY". It will be broadcast on Yomiuri TV and Nippon TV every Saturday at 5:30 pm from April.
