It has been announced that the TV anime "New Saga", based on the light novel written by Masayuki Abe and illustrated by Ryuta Fuse, will be broadcast on TOKYO MX and ABC TV from July. Due to various circumstances, the series was postponed from its planned July 2023 broadcast. A key visual featuring all the main characters and the first trailer showing the protagonist Kyle deciding to change the future have also been released.
Additional cast members have also been announced, including Kaori Maeda as Mileena, the princess of the Kingdom of Zilgus who is blessed with perfect looks and elegance; Hiroki Yasumoto as Zenthos, the captain of the second division of the Royal Knights of the Kingdom of Zilgus; Riho Sugiyama as Miranda, a diplomat stationed in the Kingdom of Zilgus as an ambassador; Rie Hikisaka as Gou, a magical engineer who aims to restore an autonomous magical weapon; and Tetsu Inada as Gazas, a dwarf blacksmith who is one of the most skilled in the world.
"New Saga" is an adventure fantasy about a protagonist who, after defeating the Demon King but suffering mortal injuries, goes back in time when he touches the crimson jewel, the Divine Dragon's Heart, and uses his memories and experiences from his previous life to challenge his second life, so as not to repeat the same tragedy. The light novel has been published by Alphapolis up to volume 10, and the total number of copies in circulation for the series is over 900,000. It has also been adapted into a comic book.
The anime will be directed by Naoki Mizusawa, with series composition by Kenta Ihara and character design by Dan Asahi. It will be co-produced by Sotsu and Studio Clutch. Yuma Uchida will play the main character Kyle, while Hiro Shimono Shimono will play Selan, Fairouz Ai will play Liese, Asami Seto will play Urza, and Minami Takahashi will play Syldonia.
