It has been revealed that actress Mikako Tabe will star in the TBS Tuesday drama "Taigan no Kaji ~Kore ga, Watashi no Ikiru Michi~" (Tuesdays at 10pm) in April. Tabe, who is also a mother of one in her private life, plays a full-time housewife who struggles with childcare and housework in this drama. This will be her second time starring in the same time slot, five years after "My Housekeeper Nagisa-san" (2020).
The drama is based on the novel "I'm Going Home on Time" by Akeno Kiko, which was also aired in the same time slot. Tabe plays Murakami Shiho, who, due to an incident in her past, decided to become a full-time housewife, saying, "I want to work doing housework for my family." However, she is unable to find other housewives like her in this day and age, and spends long hours alone with her daughter during the day until her husband comes home.
Meanwhile, Shiho happens to meet people in completely different positions, but all with the same problems related to "housework." A working mother struggling to balance work and childcare, an elite bureaucrat father on parental leave who has a perfect childcare plan but can't seem to get it all right, a young employee who is forced to work overtime behind the scenes while working, a career woman worried about caring for her parents, and other "people on the other side" with different positions and ways of thinking, this will be a new "work drama" that depicts the never-ending work known as "housework."
