It has been announced that the second gift for attendees of the advance theatrical release of Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuX -Beginning-, the latest installment in the popular Gundam anime series, will be a booklet containing setting draft materials, called "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuX -Beginning- DESIGN WORKS," which will be distributed from January 25th. The booklet contains setting draft materials that could not be included in the pamphlet, and character designer Take-san has drawn an original illustration for the cover. It comes with a warning that reads, "As it contains spoilers for the work, we recommend opening it after watching it."
Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX is also a hot topic as it is the first collaboration between Sunrise, which produces the Gundam series, and Khara, known for the Evangelion series. The TV anime series was broadcast on Nippon Television, and a pre-broadcast version of some episodes was released in 426 theaters, including IMAX screenings, on January 17th ahead of the broadcast. In the three days since its release on January 17th, the film recorded box office revenue of approximately 599 million yen. The film attracted an audience of approximately 352,500 people, topping the film audience rankings from January 17th to 19th (according to Kogyo Tsushinsha), getting off to a good start.
The story is about the protagonist, high school girl Amate Yuzuriha (Machu), who lives a peaceful life in a space colony floating in space, but after meeting a war refugee girl named Nyaan, she becomes embroiled in an illegal mobile suit duel competition, a clan battle... The protagonist's robot, GQuuuuuuX, is a mysterious state-of-the-art mobile suit piloted by Amate Yuzuriha, and participates in the clan battle.
