The second episode of the NHK Taiga drama " UNBOUND (Berabou) " (General TV, Sunday 8pm and others), starring actor Ryusei Yokohama , "Yoshiwara Hosomi 'Ahh Oedo'", will be broadcast on January 12th. From this episode, Kokoro Terada will appear as Tanyasu Kenmaru.
This will be Terada's first appearance in a taiga drama in eight years since "Naotora: The Lady Warlord" in 2017. The character he plays, Tayasu Kenmaru, was intelligent from an early age, and because his older brothers were in poor health, he was seen as the successor to the Tayasu family and the 10th Shogun, Ieharu, at a young age. He was adopted into the Mutsu Shirakawa Domain and moved away from the center of the shogunate, but after the downfall of Tanuma Okitsugu, he became a senior councilor at the order of the 11th Shogun, Ienari, and carried out the Kansei Reforms. During the Kansei Reforms, he imposed severe punishment on Tsutaya Juzaburo to crack down on public morals.

When the announcement of his appearance in July last year, Terada said, "I am both nervous and happy to be able to take part in such a big setting as a Taiga drama as Tayasu Kenmaru and Matsudaira Sadanobu. The first day of filming coincided with my 16th birthday, so this year will be another memorable day." He commented, "I am happy to be able to act alongside Ken Watanabe, whom I have respected since I was a child, and I was overwhelmed when I met him on set in the role of Tanuma Okitsugu. I would like to do my best to play Kenmaru, a clever and strong-willed man who was said to one day succeed the Tayasu family as shogun."
He then revealed his thoughts, saying, "I believe Sadanobu treasured the small joys of everyday life and thought about his people more than anyone else. I would like to play the role of such a great ruler, the lord of Fukushima's Shirakawa domain, with dignity. I hope that everyone in Fukushima will look forward to it."
"UNBOUND (Berabou)" is the 64th taiga drama, depicting the life of Tsutaya Juzaburo(or "Tsutajyu" for short), who is said to have built the foundations of Japan's media industry and pop culture. The script was written by Yoshiko Morishita, known for "Drama 10 'Ooku'" which was broadcast on NHK two years ago and became a big hit.
