It was revealed on January 11th that actor Eri Fukatsu will appear in the film "Oliver the Dog, (Gosh!!) This Yarou Movie," which will be released in the fall of 2025. This will be Fukatsu's first live-action film appearance in eight years since "Survival Family" in 2017. She will be co-starring with Joe Odagiri, who will be writing, directing, editing and playing the role of "Dog" in this film, for the first time since they played a married couple in the NHK Asadora drama "Come Come Everybody" in the second half of 2021.
This work is a movie version of the drama "Oliver na Inu, (Gosh!) Kono Yarou", which was broadcast on NHK in season 1 in 2021 and season 2 in 2022. The drama depicts the various human dramas that unfold in a mysterious town, along with the protagonist, a police dog clerk, and his partner police dog as they tackle cases.
The film version will feature Ikematsu Sosuke as the protagonist Aoba Ippei, Odagiri as Ippei's police dog partner Oliver, as well as Aso Kumiko, Honda Tsubasa, Okayama Amane, Kuroki Haru, Suzuki Keiichi, Nagase Masatoshi, Sato Koichi, Shimada Kyusaku, Uno Shohei, and Kashii Yu, who will appear in the film just like the TV series. New cast members Riho Yoshioka, Kaga Takeshi, Morikawa Aoi, Hina Kikuchi, Kikuchi Himena, and Hirai Masaaki have also been announced.
The roles of Fukada and other new cast members and the storyline have yet to be announced.
