The 70th episode of the NHK morning drama " Omusubi " (General Asadora , Monday to Saturday 8:00 AM and others), starring Kanna Hashimoto , was broadcast on January 10. In the episode, Yui (Hashimoto) and Shoya (Sano Hayato) finally became a married couple, and viewers sent out their congratulations.
In the 70th episode, on New Year's Day 2010, Shoya's parents visit the Yoneda family in Kobe. Yui and Shoya explain their life plan to their parents in order to move forward with their marriage plans, which had been put on hold. They bow their heads and ask them to "please approve our marriage."
Then, Shoya's mother, Sachiko (Wakana Sakai) replied, "No one is against it anymore." She revealed that Yui and Shoya were seriously thinking about it, and that Yui's mother, Aiko (Kumiko Aso), had told her about Shoya's marriage, and she had also approved of Shoya's marriage. Then, they made two types of ozoni, one from Itoshima, Fukuoka, and one from Tochigi, and the two families gathered around the table to eat.
The next day, Yui greeted Masato (Kitamura Yukiya), Aiko, and Ayumu ( Riisa Naka) once again, saying, "Thank you so much for all your help over the years. Thank you so much for taking care of us and raising us so well." She then said, "I'll try my best to become a wonderful couple like my father and mother."
Later, Yui and Shoya visit the Maya mountain's Kikuseidai, which offers a panoramic view of Kobe. Shoya gives Yui a wedding ring, saying, "I'm sorry we couldn't have a wedding. So at least..." When Yui finds out that Shoya bought it with the money he saved up, she bursts into tears and says, "Thank you, Shoya."
Gazing at the ring on the ring finger of his left hand, Shoya said, "It doesn't sparkle much, but this is the best I can do right now." Yui smiled happily and said, "No, let's make it sparkle more than any other ring."
On social media, Yui and Shoya are now happily married, and many people have been sending out congratulatory messages such as, "We are over the moon with happiness!" "They are exchanging rings just the two of them. This is basically a wedding!" "They're not having an engagement ring or a wedding ceremony, but they still seem happy," "It's a happy form that suits them both," "I want to wholeheartedly support this young couple," and "I wish them both much happiness."
