Actor Takeshi Tsuruno will appear on BS12 TwellV's program "Eiichiro Funakoshi's Showa Revival Factory," which will be broadcast from 9:00 pm on January 9th. Tsuruno, known for his role as Asuka Shin, the main character in "Ultraman Dyna," will visit places associated with Ultraman, beloved by all generations, and experience the "world of Showa special effects."
The program looks back on "items that evoke memories of the Showa era," "places that evoke memories of the Showa era," and "people that evoke memories of the Showa era," and brings back memories of the good old Showa era.
This time, they will relive memories of the beloved Ultraman series, which has been loved from the Showa era to the present day Reiwa era. Tsuruno will tour the area around Soshigaya-Okura Station, Ultraman's "hometown," with the original suit actor, Furuya Satoshi, and visit places full of memories. Furuya will talk about the struggles he faces as a suit actor, the untold story behind the birth of the "Specium Ray," and more.
Tsuruno will also visit Sukagawa City, Fukushima Prefecture, the hometown of Eiji Tsuburaya, the creator of Ultraman and the "god of special effects." He will explore the special effects techniques created by Tsuburaya and others. He will learn how the culture and technology left behind by Tsuburaya, along with the "power of imagination," are still being carried on today. Rare footage will also be featured.
