On July Getsuku, Aiba Masaki of the popular group "Arashi" attended a press conference at the TV Asahi headquarters (Minato Ward, Tokyo) for the drama series "The Great Chase: Metropolitan Police Department SSBC Violent Crimes Unit" (TV Asahi, Wednesdays 9pm), which starts that evening. He revealed his interactions with the other members of Arashi.
This season has been dubbed an "Arashi festival" with the broadcast of "Broadcasting Station Occupy " (Nippon TV, Saturday 9pm) starring Sakurai Sho and " The 19th medical record " (TBS, Sunday 9pm) starring Jun Matsumoto . When asked by a reporter what he thought about it, he said with a smile, "I start on Wednesday and then (this week) back to back on Saturday and Sunday, so when I meet (with the two of them), we communicate by asking, 'How is it going on over there?' and I'm all for you guys (laughs)!"
Also attending the press conference were Nao Omori and Nao Matsushita, who are both triple-stars. This was the first time the three had worked together. Omori, who co-starred with Matsumoto in the NHK Taiga drama "What Will Ieyasu Do?" (2023), said, "I've been working with Jun Matsumoto on the Taiga drama for a long time, so he (Matsumoto) always said to me, 'Please take good care of Aiba,' and since Nao-chan has the same name, it didn't even feel like we were meeting for the first time (laughs). There's no better set to work with than these two wonderful people." Aiba also smiled and said, "Matsujun also said, 'It's fun because Nao-san is there, isn't it?'"
The drama will be the first new drama in about 10 years to air in TV Asahi's traditional Wednesday 9pm time slot, which has previously aired shows such as "Aibou" and "Tokuso9". The drama is a detective drama set in the newly established "SSBC Violent Crimes Division" of the Metropolitan Police Department Investigation Support and Analysis Center (SSBC), which is responsible for collecting and analyzing security camera footage, as well as smartphone and PC analysis. Aiba will play Nanami Rintaro, a career officer seconded to the SSBC Violent Crimes Division, whose uncle is the Chief Cabinet Secretary.
