According to a survey by the game media Famitsu, Nintendo's new game console, the Nintendo Switch 2, has sold 1.4 million units in Japan in just under a month since its release (June 5-29). The console has made a rocket start, far surpassing the sales of the original Nintendo Switch.
The top-selling software was "Mario Kart World" (Nintendo), with 1.185 million copies sold, followed by "Tamagotchi no Puchi Puchi Omisetchi Omashita! (Bandai Namco Entertainment)" with 102,000 copies sold, and "Ryu no Kuni Rune Factory" (Marvelous) with 64,000 copies sold.
The original Nintendo Switch, released on March 3, 2017, surpassed one million units sold by June of the same year, just four months later, but the Switch 2 got off to a much better start.
