The 69th episode of the NHK Asadora drama "Omusubi " starring Kanna Hashimoto was broadcast on January 9th. The episode depicted Shoya (played by Hayato Sano), who was in charge of a tasting session for a rice cooker under development, scrambling to find a replacement for an in-house monitor who suddenly couldn't attend, drawing the attention of viewers.
In the 69th episode, Shoya hadn't returned even when the tasting session was about to end, so the development team gave up and started packing up. Then Shoya came running in and explained, "The baseball club members are going to help out." The baseball club members readily agreed to Shoya's request and agreed to help out as in-house monitors.
After the tasting session, Shoya bowed deeply to the baseball team members, saying, "Thank you for your help. I'm really sorry for bothering you during practice." His teammates Kotaro (Ohara Yuki) and Okouchi (Nakayama Shota) encouraged Shoya, saying, "Good luck!" and "Come and see us sometimes," while Coach Nakamura (Shimao Yasushi) encouraged him, saying, "You look good in a suit, don't you? Do your best."
Comments on social media included, "It was heartwarming," "It really hit me hard," "Shoya's friends are there to help him out when he's in a pinch," "They're all so kind," "I almost cried when I saw Shoya overcome his pain and ask the baseball club for help," and "I'm glad that Shoya, who had given up on baseball, was able to go to the baseball club for help and overcome one of his own obstacles."
