Mikami Sensei:[Student introduction] Student number 10 "Ema Kanamori" Hinari Serizawa A curious and strong-willed former member of the light music club who dreams of becoming a unique actor

The Sunday Theatre drama " Mikami Sensei " (TBS, Sunday 9pm) starring actor Tori Matsuzaka Tori will begin airing on January 19th. The drama will introduce the 29 unique students of class 2, year 3, of Rintoku Gakuen, where Mikami (Matsuzaka) is the homeroom teacher, in order of their attendance numbers. Here we will introduce Kanamori Ema (played by Hinari Serizawa), who is attendance number 10. A video introducing the students is also available on the drama's official SNS.

Kanamori is a curious and strong-willed person. He is vocal and expresses his opinions firmly. He was a former member of the light music club, and his favorite things are J-POP and watching anime. He wants to become a unique actor in the future, and is good friends with Ichihara Honami ( Sayu Suzukawa), Toda Sachiko (Hanaoka Sumire), and Enomoto Sakura (Marin Nishimoto) in his class.

Serizawa, who plays the role, commented, "This is my first time personally taking part in such a big production, so I'm honestly excited and nervous...! I feel that school days are when everyone is in adolescence, and it's a time when they're making dark secrets, so I'm trying to play the role with that "a little bit mischievous, but still cute and childlike" side to it. I was always amazed that such a peaceful filming set existed...Everyone, including the staff, was running around with such joy. Everyone is so cute and acting like students that I had the illusion I was really at school. I think this film will make people think again about the everyday issues that we all vaguely feel but overlook as we go about our lives in society. It's a film that you won't regret watching, regardless of age, gender, or age."

"Mikami Sensei" is about Takashi Mikami (Matsuzaka), a bureaucrat in the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology who wants to change the Japanese education system. He is ordered to transfer to a private high school called Rintoku Gakuin. In reality, he was demoted, but Mikami himself takes to the podium and leads 18-year-old high school students living in the Reiwa era, standing up to authority... This is a "great reversal education revival story."

This completely original work will be written by Shimori Roba, who will be teaming up with Matsuzaka for the first time since the film "The Journalist," and will be writing the script for a prime-time drama series for the first time. Kazutaka Iida, who has been in charge of popular Sunday Theater dramas such as "Anti-Hero" (2024) and "VIVANT" (2023), will serve as producer.
