Shingo Katori:"He's a star" - Jun Shison is "delighted" with the behind-the-scenes story

Actors Katori Shingo and Jun Shison appeared on stage to greet the Japan's Number One Jerk Salaryman" (Fuji TV, Thursdays 10pm) held in Tokyo on January 7th. When Shison revealed how much of a "star" Katori is, applause erupted from the audience.

Regarding working with Katori, Shison said, "It's no exaggeration to say that I grew up watching Katori. It was a strange feeling to work with him, but he's really a star. He's really a star," his eyes lit up.

When asked about specific episodes, Shison said, "When we went to the shopping district for filming, Katori went to say hello to the shops. He also went to a rehabilitation facility and made a phone call to the family of an elderly woman receiving rehabilitation. When I spoke to her, I found out she was 95 years old, and I think it's truly impressive that he's a star, making a 95-year-old person smile."

Katori was delighted, saying, "That's right. He's a star." He continued, "I like people. I get to know the people in the shopping district by asking them, 'What kind of shop do you run?' It's fun."

Masuda Risa, Chiba Sojiro, and Mukaizato Yuka also attended the stage greeting.

Katori plays Omori Ippei, a former TV newsman who is involved in a scandal that pushes his life to the brink. He hates his family and children, but with the impure motive of wanting to show people what he can do, he decides to live with his single-father brother-in-law and his children in order to win an election as a politician. However, as he comes into contact with people through raising his children and builds a relationship like that of a real family, he gradually begins to wish to create a better society, and in order to change Japan, he decides to seriously run for office... This is the story.
