The 67th episode of the NHK Asadora drama "Omusubi " starring Hashimoto Kanna was broadcast on January 7th, and viewers were drawn to the interaction between Aiko (Asou Kanna Hashimoto ), a former delinquent girl from Nagoya, and Sachiko (Sakai Wakana), a former lady's girl from Tochigi.
At the end of the 66th episode (broadcast on January 6th), Shoya (Hayato Sano) emailed his family living in Tochigi that he had decided to marry Yui (Hashimoto). Later, Shoya's mother, Sachiko, came into the Yoneda Hair Salon in a furious manner and confronted Masato (Yukiya Kitamura) and the others, asking, "What do you mean by taking that boy as your son-in-law?"
In episode 67, Yui, who learned of Sachiko's visit through an email from Aiko, hurries home with Shoya. When Shoya complains, "Why did you suddenly go to Yoneda's store?", Sachiko replies, "I've always been the type to go out on my own."
When Yui said, "Shoya's mother used to be a ladies' girl in Tochigi," Aiko muttered, "Oh, I see. Is that so?" and her eyes suddenly changed to that of a former delinquent. When Aiko pressed Shoya, saying, "Please explain properly," Sachiko retorted, "Isn't it Yui who should explain?" and the two exchanged looks of disapproval.
Masato and the others rushed in to stop them, and they decided to talk it out calmly. Shoya explained that he wasn't going to become an adopted son-in-law, but that he wanted to take the Yoneda surname. However, Sachiko replied, "I don't want that!" and "Anyway, I don't approve of this marriage." When Yui called him "Mom," he raised his voice and said, "You have no right to call me Mom!"
Aiko then gets angry and says, "What are you doing to my daughter?" and the two start to exchange dirty looks again. Sachiko hands over a gift, saying, "This is strawberry jam from my field. I don't know if it will suit your taste, but..." and Aiko accepts it, saying, "Thank you very much. Thank you very much." Ayumi ( Riisa Naka), who was watching the exchange nearby, whispers, "They're having an adult conversation while giving each other dirty looks."
Comments on social media included, "It was so funny," "The menchi-cutting got their blood boiling. It was hilarious that morning," "These two have so much dignity in their "menchi," "I want to treat the person who thought of getting Aso Kumiko and Sakai Wakana to have an adult conversation while cutting menchi," "I want to watch this facial expression skit forever lol," and "The battle scenes were so exciting."
