Junki Tozuka:"I just want to be famous": Four regular dramas last year, two this season with even more ambition

Actor Junki Tozuka attended a press conference for the TV drama series "Honnou Switch" (TV Asahi) held in Tokyo recently. Last year, Tozuka appeared regularly in four dramas, including the NHK morning drama "Tora ni Tsubasa," and in many other productions. He spoke emphatically about his aspirations for 2025, saying, "I want to be successful. I just want to be successful."

In addition to this work, this popular actor is also set to appear in the January drama series "Ensemble" (Nippon TV, Saturday 10pm), starring Kawaguchi Haruna, which starts on the 18th. He expressed further ambition, saying, "I want to work even harder (to become more popular)."

The drama is based on the popular manga of the same name by KUJIRA, and stars Miyachika Kaito of the popular group "Travis Japan" and actor Aoi Wakana. The story follows childhood friends Akiyama Sei and Hoshi Koyori, who have lived next door to each other like family for 26 years since they were old enough to remember, who end up spending a night together by chance, realizing their hidden feelings for each other and beginning a "delayed first love." Miyachika plays Sei and Aoi plays Kowa. Totsuka plays Yoshida Sosuke, Kowa's colleague who cheats on her and breaks up with her.

Tozuka, who plays a cheating man who cheats on his wife, said of his role, "It's the worst. He's the worst kind of man (laughs)." "But he's also cool, and straightforward, and he makes an effort to enrich his life. At first glance, he's a very annoying and unlikable character, but the fact that he was able to date the pure Kowa-chan even once means that he has a warm heart," he said. Miyachika, Aoi, Kojima Ken from the popular group Ae! group, and actor Nonami Maho also attended the press conference.

"Honnou Switch" will start on January 11th in the TV Asahi "Oshidora Saturday" (Saturday 11pm) time slot.
