Kodai Kurosaki:Appearing in NHK drama "Tokyo Salad Bowl"

Kodai Kurosaki, who made her acting debut in the NHK drama series "Boogie Woogie" in the second half of 2023, has been revealed to be appearing in the NHK drama series "Tokyo Salad Bowl" (General TV, Tuesdays at 10pm), which starts on January 7th. Kurosaki will appear in the fifth episode and play Susumu Hayakawa, a care facility staff member with complicated feelings. While Susumu treats the Vietnamese staff member Tien with kindness as his trainer, the feelings he has been secretly building up cause a big commotion that involves those around him.

Kurosaki was born in Hyogo Prefecture in 2002. Despite being a complete amateur, he won the audition for an actor in 2022, "LesPros Entertainment 30th Anniversary Project "Main Role Audition", out of about 5,000 applicants, and entered the entertainment industry. In "Boogie Woogie", he played the role of Rokuro, the younger brother of the heroine Suzuko (Shuri), and his natural acting became a hot topic, with people saying, "It's hard to believe he's a new actor."

The drama is based on the manga "Tokyo Salad Bowl - International Investigation Case Files" by Kuromaru, who is also known for "Kurosagi," and stars Nao and Ryuhei Matsuda.

The story is set in Tokyo, where about 700,000 foreign residents live. In this metropolis where different languages, food, and cultures intersect, the green-haired international police officer Mari Koda (Nao) and the troubled Chinese interpreter Ryo Yukino (Ryuhei Matsuda) team up in this socially conscious entertainment film to pick up the lives of those who are on the verge of falling through the cracks of Japanese society.

In addition to Kurosaki, Maggie will appear in episode 2 as detective Ouchida Masaru who suspects Yukino Ryo, Hamano Kenta will appear in episodes 3 and 4 as Harashima Koji, a kidnapping victim, and Hoshino Mari will appear in episode 6 as Harumi, the mother of the main character Koda Mari. It was also announced that Miura Masami will appear in episodes 7 to 9, and Ando Tamae will appear in episode 8.

The second main visual has also been released. It expresses the worldview of the drama where different personalities intersect, and was designed by Idea Oshima and photographed by Kana Tarumi.
