Additional cast members for the TV anime " The Blue Wolves of Mibu ," based on a manga about the Shinsengumi by Tsuyoshi Yasuda , who is also known for the soccer manga "DAYS," have been announced, including Mamoru Miyano, Chika Anzai, Rie Takahashi Rie, and Kujira. The anime will enter its second season, "The Blood of the Soldier Corps Arc," on January 11, and the biggest battle in Miburo's history will begin. Miyano will play Kyoya Yotaro, the kind-hearted dojo owner, Anzai will play Yotaro's wife Nagi, Takahashi will play Sakura, an apprentice swordsmith, and Kujira will play the mysterious Snake.
The key visual for the second season depicts the moment when the Miburo officers rush to meet the attacking enemies, and a promotional video featuring the second season's opening theme, "OOKAMI," by the hip-hop group Umeda Cipher has also been released.
Miyano commented, "Yotaro is a gentle and kind-hearted man. He becomes deeply involved with the Risshidan, a group that is important to Miburo. He has a complicated upbringing, so when you think about his past, you can see that he is not just a "straightforward" man, but what does he carry inside him, what does he think, and what does he value as he fights? I hope you will be able to feel this as you watch the story."
Yasumi said, "After reading the original work, I was deeply moved by and enjoyed the journey of Nio and the Mibu Roshi-gumi. I think the Blood of the Risshidan arc will be a very influential story for both the Mibu Roshi-gumi and Nio, so as a reader, I am looking forward to seeing it in animation. The words of Kyohachi Nagi, whose voice I provide, made me realize and think about many things. She is a person with beautiful strength. I hope you will not only read the original work but also watch the anime to see how her strength will affect Nio and the Mibu Roshi-gumi!"
Takahashi says, "Sakura decided to follow her own path in the face of adversity. She was also a strong, resilient woman who was able to move forward in these times. I hope you will enjoy seeing how Sakura interacts with others in this film."
Kujira commented, "Snakes...speaking of snakes, it seems that the name is Kujira. I'm happy...I'm grateful. It's a mysterious, mystical role...I think it's probably a woman...after all, she's a snake. I wonder how she'll be involved with the Shinsengumi. I'm excited. Apparently Snake works as the hostess of a bar? A snack bar? As expected, it seems that the hostess of a bar is Kujira. I'm happy..."
