Commentary:Gunpla to watch in 2025 New anime "GQuuuuuuX" Z'Gok from "SEED FREEDOM" World Expo too

Bandai Spirits' Gundam plastic model kits, based on the popular anime series Gundam, will celebrate their 45th anniversary in 2025. This year, new products will be released one after another, including a Gundam model kit for the latest series in the series, Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuX. We will explain the Gundam models that are attracting attention.

◇Color x Sunrise Hot New Release

"Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX" is the first collaboration between Sunrise, which is responsible for the "Gundam" series, and Khara, known for the "Evangelion" series. The project will bring together a star-studded staff, including director Kazuya Tsurumaki, series composer Yoji Enokido, and mechanical designer Ikuto Yamashita. The TV anime series will be broadcast on the Nippon Television network, and ahead of the broadcast, a reconstructed version of some episodes of "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuX -Beginning-" will be screened at 373 theaters nationwide from January 17th.

The Gunpla model of the main character's mobile suit, GQuuuuuuX, "HG 1/144 GQuuuuuuX," will be released on January 17th, the same day the early cinema screening begins. Its distinctive form has been faithfully reproduced. Dynamic action is possible with movable joints in the torso, hip joints, and other parts. The backpack can be moved flexibly, and expressions can be added depending on the angle. A wide variety of weapons are included. The price is 2,200 yen.

◇Infinite Justice Type II inside Z'Gok!

In February, the Gunpla model of the Z'Gok from "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom", "HG 1/144 Z'Gok (SEED FREEDOM Ver.)" will be released. In the movie, the Z'Gok appeared as a temporary form to hide the Infinite Justice Gundam Nishiki piloted by Athrun Zala. The shape of the internal frame of the Z'Gok Gunpla is modeled after the Infinite Justice Gundam Nishiki, and you can choose to incorporate parts of the separately sold "HG 1/144 Infinite Justice Gundam Nishiki". The price is 3,520 yen.

The Psycho Gundam Mk-II Gunpla model "HG 1/144 Psycho Gundam Mk-II" from "Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam" and "Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ" will be released in March. It is a huge Gunpla model that stands about 27cm tall and faithfully reproduces the characteristic form. It has a gimmick that allows it to transform into a mobile fortress. The price is 11,000 yen.

◇Completely new footage of the Expo, including the RG Shining Gundam

The Gundam series pavilion "GUNDAM NEXT FUTURE PAVILION" will be exhibited at the Expo 2025 in Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, Japan, and is also a hot topic. The Gunpla "EXPO2025 1/144 RX-78F00/E Gundam (EX-001 Glass Feather Equipped)" of the RX-78F00/E Gundam (EX-001 Glass Feather Equipped) that appears in the completely new video released at the pavilion will be released in April.

This Gunpla was announced at the "62nd All Japan Model Hobby Show" held in October last year, and is designed with a full-body movable mechanism, allowing it to transform into Super Mode without the need for parts replacement. It thoroughly pursues "human" movement, and uses a frame structure optimized for mobility, allowing for flexible posing. The price is 3,850 yen.

In 2025, a succession of noteworthy Gunpla models will be released, including models based on new anime, the World Expo, and nostalgic MS (Mobile Suits). However, there are sure to be many more Gunpla models that have yet to be announced.
