On November 28, TV Tokyo announced that it will broadcast "Kodoku no Gourmet 2024 New Year's Eve Special (tentative title)" from 10:00 pm to 11:30 pm on December 31. This will be the eighth consecutive year that the special will be broadcast on New Year's Eve, a special program of the popular drama "Kodoku no Gourmet" starring Yutaka Matsushige, which began in 2012. Last year, "Kodoku no Gourmet 2023 New Year's Eve Special: Goro Inogashira, Escape to the South 'Don't Look for Me.'" depicted Goro Inogashira (played by Matsushige) going on an escape trip to Okinawa, but unexpectedly going to Taiwan, depicting an unexpected food journey. Where will Goro land this time, and what exquisite gourmet food awaits him there, satisfying both his stomach and his heart? Details will be announced at a later date. Following last year, it was also announced that all past episodes of "Kodoku no Gourmet" will be broadcast on terrestrial and BS broadcasts during the New Year holidays. Terrestrial broadcasting will run from December 30th to January 1st, while BS broadcasting will run from December 30th to January 3rd, showing past seasons and a "New Year's Eve Special."
"Kodoku no Gourmet" is a gourmet documentary that depicts the blissful moments of the protagonist, Inogashira Goro, an import goods merchant, who pops into restaurants he comes across during his business trips and eats whatever he wants. This year marks the 12th year since the series began broadcasting, and each episode of "The Solitary Gourmet," which was conceived and planned by the main character Matsushige himself, is being aired every Friday at 12:12am. The feature film "Kodoku no Gourmet," directed and written by Matsushige, will also be released on January 10th next year.
