It has been announced that the TV anime series "Ninja and a Hitman Living Together," based on the manga by Hamburger currently being serialized in the manga magazine "Comic Dengeki Daioh" (KADOKAWA), will begin airing in April 2025. It has also been announced that Yu Serizawa, Eri Kitamura, and Rumi Okubo will appear as additional cast members.
The series is a dark comedy woven by the naive female ninja Kusagakure Satoko and the high school assassin Koga Konoha. Serizawa will play Izutsumi Marin, a young assassin who views Konoha as a rival, Kitamura will play Kuro, the leader of a group of ninja who escape the village with Satoko, and Okubo will play Yuriko, an ordinary person who lives with Kuro. It has also been announced that Mikawa Kazuki, who will play Satoko, will play Roboko, a robot created by Marin that imitates Satoko.
Serizawa commented, "When I first read this work, I thought it would be so much fun to turn it into an anime! I want to see it with voice acting! And then I found myself being a part of it, which made me so happy. Marin is a straight man who pretends to be the straight man, but is overwhelmingly cute and pitiful. Marin is caught up in the chaos between Satoko and Konoha, and has been out of sorts all her life, so I can't help but feel affection for her. I look forward to working with her!"
Kitamura said, "I'm Kitamura Eri, and I'll be playing Kuro, the leader of the ninja gang. In this work, which has the appeal of being a heartwarming and pop but dark comedy, he seems like the only one with common sense... but also like a loser... (laughs). Before recording began, I was talking to Hanazawa Kana (who plays Konoha) and we said, 'I'm looking forward to the dubbing,' so I'm really looking forward to seeing how the unique worldview of the original manga can be constructed in the anime! I look forward to the broadcast♪."
Okubo said, "Yuriko is a rare character in this work (laughs). She is a member of society with common sense... a proper adult woman! I'm a bit concerned that her lover Kuro-chan is a freeloader... but she also becomes a good confidant for Satoko and Konoha, so I hope to portray her as a kind and tolerant older sister. Please look forward to the lovey-dovey scenes with Kuro-chan ♪ I hope you will get immersed in the fun, cute, but slightly dangerous world of 'Ninkoro'!"
A key visual featuring Satoko and Konohara and a teaser PV featuring the two of them interacting have also been released.
"Ninja and Hitman Living Together" is a dark comedy manga that has been serialized in "Comic Dengeki Daioh" since February 2021.
