On November 25th, it was announced that the drama series "Love is too difficult for a heir," starring Nagase Ren of the popular group "King & Prince," will be broadcast on KTV/Fuji TV's "Ka Dora★Eleven" time slot (Tuesdays at 11pm) from January 7th, 2025.
This romantic comedy follows the story of a spoiled and free-spirited heir of a major apparel manufacturer, who becomes a colleague of a "commoner girl" who was born and raised in the exact opposite environment, working on making children's clothes and experiencing his first setback and true love. Nagase plays the main character, Tendo Subaru, and Yamashita Mizuki plays the heroine, Hanakura Madoka. This is the first time Nagase and Yamashita have acted together.
Nagase is known for playing calm characters, but this is his first time taking on a comedy-style love story. She will embody Subaru, who is selfish and extremely narcissistic, but has a wealth of knowledge about clothing and is knowledgeable about materials and designs.
Yamashita has been active as an actor, appearing regularly in the NHK morning drama "Maiagare! (2022-23)" since her time as a member of the idol group "Nogizaka46". After graduating from Nogizaka46 in May of this year, she is expanding her range of activities as an actor. Madoka, who she will play this time, is a serious, reliable, hard-working person who cannot tolerate crookedness. She is a realist who does not trust uncertain things such as love and romance.
The original story will be written by Haruka Okita, who is known for "Night Doctor" (Fuji TV, 2021), "Ride the Unicorn" (TBS, 2022), and "Tokyo Tower" (TV Asahi, 2024), in which Nagase starred.
Nagase commented, "When I read the script, there were some parts of the dialogue and Subaru's character that made me chuckle, so I'm really looking forward to filming." "Because it's a romantic comedy, there are heart-fluttering elements, and on top of that, it also has the elements of a work drama, and there's also the friendship aspect. The story unfolds in an interesting way around these three axes, and I think it's a work that will have you thinking, 'When is Tuesday?' every week.
