Singer-songwriter Kimura Kaela will appear on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi), broadcasting at 1 pm on October 18th. Kimura says that since she was a child, she had been convinced that she would become a singer. She talks about how she struggled to make her debut, but then a certain trigger led to her debut in just two weeks.

She was born to an English father and a Japanese mother, and grew up in Tokyo's downtown area. She recalls that she used to sing in the bathroom at home every day, causing trouble for her family. Although she was small, she was a playful girl, and would climb trees and surprise those around her. She loved fashion as well as singing, and had decided to go to college to study clothing, but thought, "If I go to college like this, I won't be able to become a singer," so she gave up on going to college and decided to become a singer instead.

One day, when she consulted the producer of the show she was hosting, her debut was decided in just two weeks, and she reflected, "I'm glad I took the plunge and consulted him then."

She is the mother of a daughter in elementary school and a son in middle school, but she writes songs and does housework at the same time. Recently, she has been singing along with her son playing guitar, and says she is having a great time.
