A concept teaser video for "Tokyo Ghoul EX.", an exhibition based on the popular manga by Ishida Sui that is celebrating its 10th anniversary, has been released on YouTube. The video expresses the worldview of the exhibition, and unveils 3D images of the "Gecko Torture Room" and "Quinx Treatment" in the venue.
It was also announced that a "Kaneki Mask," a reproduction of the mask worn by the main character Kaneki Ken, will be sold as an original item for the exhibition. The mask is a reproduction of a mask created by Uta at HySy Art Mask Studio, a mask shop in Ward 4. The price is 120,000 yen.
There will also be a giveaway campaign where you can post your impressions of the exhibition on X (Twitter) and enter a lottery to win posters autographed by the anime cast.
"Tokyo Ghoul EX." is an "immersive" exhibition where you can experience the world of the work through three-dimensional exhibits, interactive experiences, and immersive images. The Tokyo event will be held at Terada Warehouse G1 Building (Shinagawa, Tokyo) from October 21st to December 1st, while the Osaka event will be held at VS. in Gran Green Osaka (Kita, Osaka) from December 14th to 29th.
Tokyo Ghoul is a popular manga that centers around the theme of ghouls, monsters who eat human flesh. The original Tokyo Ghoul series ran in Weekly Young Jump (Shueisha) from 2011 to 2014, with a new chapter, Tokyo Ghoul:re, running from 2014 to 2018. The comic series has sold over 47 million copies worldwide.
The TV anime "Tokyo Ghoul" aired from July to September 2014, "Tokyo Ghoul √A" from January to March 2015, and the first season of "Tokyo Ghoul:re" from April to June 2018 and the second season from October to December of the same year. Live-action films starring actor Masataka Kubota were released in 2017 and 2019, which also attracted attention.
