It has been announced that the TV anime "Kuroiwa Medaka ni Watashi no Kawaii ga Tsujinai" (Medaka Kuroiwa Is Impervious to My Charms), based on the romantic comedy manga by Kuze Ran, which is currently being serialized in "Weekly Shonen Magazine" (Kodansha), will be broadcast on TV Tokyo from January 2025. It was also announced that Hinaki Yano will appear as a voice actor. Yano will play Namba Tomo, one of the heroines and a childhood friend of Kawai Mona. A promotional video depicting a scene in which Namba Tomo speaks in Kansai dialect was released on YouTube.
Yano commented, "This is my first time playing a role like Tomo, who speaks Kansai dialect but is also carefree, but since there are many people on set who are from Kansai, I was able to relax and enjoy the dubbing! Of course, the original work is great, but the atmosphere of the anime makes me grin even more, so I hope you will look forward to the broadcast!"
The work was published as a one-shot in "Weekly Shonen Magazine" in December 2020, and due to its popularity, it began serialization in the magazine in May 2021. A romantic comedy about Kawai Mona, a beautiful, stylish and popular girl, and Kuroiwa Medaka, a transfer student and celibate boy. The story follows Mona's struggles to win over Medaka, who doesn't pay her any attention.
The anime is directed by Okumura Yoshiaki and produced by SynergySP. Iwasaki Ryota plays Kuroiwa Medaka and Serizawa Yu plays Kawai Mona.
