It was revealed on October 10th that the popular manga "Oshi no Ko", which is currently being serialized in "Weekly Young Jump" (Shueisha), will end with "four chapters remaining". The series has been in its final chapter since June this year, and on October 10th, the official Twitter account announced, "Four chapters left until the end!!". The final chapter (chapter 166) will be released in the 50th issue of the magazine on November 14th, bringing the series to a close after about four and a half years of serialization. The final volume of the comic, volume 16, will be released on December 18th. A special edition with a special cover, book stand, and stickers, "Oshi no Ko 16 SPECIAL EDITION", will also be released at the same time.

As a project to celebrate the end, it was also announced that a keychain that reproduces the "Ai Mugen Tokukyu Eien Oshi!!!" keychain that appears in the series will be released. Official Twitter will be posting countdowns to the end.

"Oshi no Ko" is a popular manga written by Akasaka Aka, author of "Kaguya-sama: Love is War - The Geniuses' War of Love and Brains", and illustrated by Yokoyari Mengo, who has also worked on "Scum's Wish". It began serialization in Weekly Young Jump in April 2020. It depicts the story of twin siblings left behind by the sudden death of a genius idol named Ai. The twin sister, Ruby, admires her mother and enters the entertainment industry, while the older brother, Aqua, vows to take revenge on their biological father, who is believed to have assisted in Ai's murder. The comics have sold over 18 million copies in total.

The TV anime is also popular, and in the first season, which aired from April to June 2023, the opening theme "Idol" by the music unit "YOASOBI" was a huge hit, and their performance at the 74th NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen was also a hot topic. The second season began airing in July this year, and the final episode aired on October 6th. The production of the third season has also been announced.

The live-action adaptation has also been much talked about, with the eight-episode drama being exclusively streamed on Prime Video from 9pm on November 28th, and the film being released nationwide on December 20th. The all-star cast includes former member of idol group Nogizaka46 Saito Asuka as Ai, actor Sakurai Kaito as Aqua, and former member of idol group =LOVE Saito Nagisa as Ruby. A 2.5-dimensional stage performance is also scheduled for December.
