A press conference to announce the completion of the film "Doctor-X: The Movie" (directed by Tamura Naoki, to be released on December 6th) was held on October 8th at TV Asahi (Minato Ward, Tokyo), with main cast members including Yonekura Ryoko and Endo Kenichi in attendance.

The film marks the final installment of the "Doctor-X: Surgeon Daimon Michiko" series, which began airing on TV Asahi in 2012 and stars Yonekura. Endo plays Ebina Kei, a doctor who continues to demonstrate his "will" by devoting himself to his superior Hiruma Shigekatsu (Nishida Toshiyuki), and in this film he achieves his long-cherished dream of becoming hospital director.

Endo expressed his feelings about "Doctor-X" by saying, "I'm shy, but thanks to Doctor-X I've become able to talk to various people on set," and thanked his co-stars and staff. "There was a time when I met elementary school kids in my neighborhood and they would call me 'Doctor-X!' from afar. I've done a lot of productions over the past 12 years, but Doctor-X was the only one where they called out to me by the (drama) title. I've always thought it was such an impactful production."

As Yonekura teared up about the fact that this would be the final production, and the cast members one after another expressed their sadness, Endo said, "Maybe if the movie is a hit, we'll do it again? Maybe not (laughs)?" The audience instantly relaxed, but Suzuki Kosuke next to him chimed in, saying, "You shouldn't say that (laughs)!" Endo laughed and expressed his hopes, saying, "But I want them to do it. I hope they can do it."

The film tells the story of the protagonist, a lone freelance surgeon named Daimon Michiko, who discovers the "secret of her birth," and brings together familiar cast members from the drama series. Also appearing in the film have been announced: Sometani Shota, Nishihata Daigo from Naniwa Danshi, and Ayano Go.
