The NHK Asadora drama series "Kaze,Kaoru " (NHK General, Monday-Saturday 8:00 AM, etc.), starring Ai Mikami and Juri Kosaka , will begin airing on March 30th. This 114th Asadora is based on the story of two trained nurses (nurses formally trained in the Meiji era), Chika Ozeki and Masa Suzuki. Here, we introduce Kaishu Katsu, played by Tsurutaro Kataoka.
Katsu Kaishu was an old acquaintance of Usaburo (played by Bandō Yajūrō), the owner of "Mizuho-ya," and would occasionally drop by Mizuho-ya.
This will be Kataoka's sixth appearance in a Asadora, following "Cho-chan" (first half of 1987), "Haru yo, Koi" (second half of 1994), "Ume-chan Sensei" (first half of 2012), "Toto Nee-chan" (first half of 2016), and "Chimudondon" (first half of 2022).
"Kaze,Kaoru" depicts the story of two women who graduated from the same nursing school, struggling with how to interact with patients and doctors, clashing with each other, growing as individuals, and eventually becoming the "ultimate buddy duo." Mikami plays the main character, Ichinose Rin, and Uesaka plays the other main character, Oya Naomi.
The script is written by Tomoko Yoshizawa, who has worked on a wide range of genres, from comedies and family dramas to medical dramas and period dramas. The theme song is "Kaze to Machi" by the three-member band "Mrs. Green Apple".
