A press conference to announce the completion of the movie "Doctor X: The Movie" (directed by Tamura Naoki, to be released on December 6th) was held on October 8th at TV Asahi (Minato Ward, Tokyo), with the main cast including lead actress Yonekura Ryoko in attendance. The latest trailer was shown at the conference, revealing that "something will happen" to Kanbara Akira (Kishibe Ittoku), whom the protagonist Daimon Michiko (Yonekura) regards as her "master."
Yonekura said with a look of anguish, "For me, it was a story I absolutely wanted to avoid in which something would happen to Akira, but that's what happened..." and introduced the movie as "a painful, challenging, and deeply affectionate movie."
The movie is the final installment of the drama series "Doctor X: Surgeon Daimon Michiko," which began airing on TV Asahi in 2012. The story reveals the "secret of the birth" of the protagonist, the solitary freelance surgeon Daimon Michiko, and brings together the familiar cast from the drama series. Also appearing in the film have been announced: Shota Sometani, Naniwa Danshi's Nishihata Daigo, and Ayano Go.
Also attending the press conference that day were Tanaka Kei, Uchida Yuki, Katsumura Masanobu, Suzuki Kosuke, Endo Kenichi, Kishibe Ittoku, and Nishida Toshiyuki.
