The second movie version of the popular detective drama series starring actor Oda Yuji, "Bayside Shakedown THE MOVIE 2: Close Off the Rainbow Bridge!" (directed by Motohiro Katsuyuki, 2003), will be broadcast on Fuji TV's Saturday Premium slot (Saturdays at 9pm) on October 5th.

"Bayside Shakedown" is a popular series that began airing on Fuji TV in January 1997. The protagonist, Aoshima Shunsaku (Oda), is an unusual detective who left his job to join the Wangan Police Station's Criminal Investigation Division. Although he is confused by the gap between his ideals and reality, he tackles cases with sincerity, sometimes passionately and sometimes with humor.

"Bayside Shakedown THE MOVIE 2" is set in Odaiba, Tokyo. This town, which was once full of vacant lots, has been transformed into a tourist attraction. At the Wangan Police Station, the staff are busy every day with things like giving tourist information, helping with lost children and directing traffic. Meanwhile, a bizarre murder occurs in the area. Aoshima and other officers from Wangan Police Station are shocked by the news. Soon after, Muroi Shinji (Yanagiba Toshiro) and others arrive from the main office. A special investigation headquarters is set up, with Okita Hitomi (Maya Miki), the first female career officer, as its chief.

However, as if to mock Aoshima and his team's desperate investigation, a second murder occurs. With no clear motive, disturbing movements emerge within the police force. Will Aoshima and the other investigators be able to apprehend the suspect in Odaiba, a "labyrinth" of the big city with roads and tunnels that are not on any maps?

The film also stars Fukatsu Eri, Mizuno Miki, Yusuke Santamaria, and Ikariya Chosuke.

Fuji TV will be broadcasting other "Bayside Shakedown" film adaptations in order to commemorate the theatrical release of the first new film in 12 years, the two-part "Muroi Shinji: The Unconquerable" (directed by Motohiro Katsuyuki) and "Muroi Shinji: The Living One" (directed by the same director) on October 11th and 15th, respectively, as part of the "Odoru Project." Broadcast times are as follows:

October 12th, 8pm - "Bayside Shakedown THE MOVIE 3: Set Them Free!" (released in 2010)▽November 16th, 9pm - "Bayside Shakedown THE FINAL: A New Hope" (released in 2012).
