The first promotional video for the TV anime series "Douse, Koi Shimaunda.", based on the manga by Mitsui Haruka currently being serialized in the girls' manga magazine "Nakayoshi" (Kodansha), has been released on YouTube. The video depicts the love and youth of five people who were supposed to be childhood friends of the main character, and a certain incident changes their relationship.
It has also been announced that Uemura Yuto and Tadokoro Azusa will appear as additional cast members. Uemura will play Saito Ryosuke, a senior in the swimming club whom Mizuho admires, and Tadokoro will play Kurashiki Chinatsu, Mizuho's best friend.
Uemura commented, "This is what youth is all about! The unfounded confidence and reckless youth of a student, when you're still nobody, and the time you spend with your friends that sparkles and shines because of that. It's a work that will warm your heart, with all the sparkle of youth scattered throughout it."
Tadokoro said, "She cares for Mizuho in many ways, but she has a calm perspective, so I was careful not to get too close to her feelings. Getting the right distance and temperature was difficult. Chinatsu looks cool, but she's warm-hearted and caring towards her friends! I hope I was able to express her charm."
A preview screening will be held on November 17th at United Cinema Aquacity Odaiba (Minato-ku, Tokyo) with the main cast members Sakura Shinpuku, Nozomi Urawa, Shion Yoshitaka, Shoya Chiba, and Keiji Inomata.
The series began serialization in Nakayoshi in December 2020. It depicts the heart-pounding love and youth of the protagonist Mizuho, who grew up in a seaside town, and her unique childhood friends, Teruzuki, Miku, Ai, and Shugo. The anime will be directed by Junichi Yamamoto and produced by Taifu Graphics. It will be broadcast on TBS, BS11 and other networks from January 2025.
