It has been announced that actor Sato Eriko will be appearing in "Ultraman Arc," the newest installment of the special effects drama "Ultraman" series. Sato will play Swede, a mysterious alien who is after the main character, Tobise Yuuma. She will reportedly be an important character who holds the key to the story in the latter half of the series.
Sweed is an alien who controls the space beast Zadime to threaten Hoshimoto City and is after Yuuma. In the form of a woman with icy beauty, she can control others with telekinesis, immobilize them, and even see into their minds. She calls Luteon, or Ultraman Arc, a "traitor," and when she sees that Luteon is inside Yuuma, she plots to drag him out.
Sato said, "My son was watching Ultraman Z with great interest and participated in various events. At the time, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, everyone, even small children, wore masks. One day, the MC said, 'Don't say anything, put your hands on your heart, point them at Ultraman, and ask him to do his best!' The children's eyes lit up so brightly that I thought they had the twinkling stars of the Ultra Galaxy in their eyes, and they prayed for him. At that time, I also put my hands up and prayed in my heart, 'I hope I can work with Ultraman someday.' And now, in Ultraman Ark, my dream of working with Ultraman has come true. I took on the filming thinking, 'Thank you, Ultraman! For making my dream come true, too.'"
The theme of Ultraman Ark is "the power of imagination." Tobise Yuuma, a rookie researcher who has just joined the SKIP Monster Science Research Institute, becomes one with a messenger of light that has descended to Earth from a faraway galaxy, and becomes a giant Ultraman Ark, who protects the future of people and the Earth from the impending crisis. Takanori Tsujimoto, who has been involved in the "New Generation Ultraman" series as a director since "Ultraman X," will serve as the main director for the first time, and Jun Tsuguta, who has teamed up with Tsujimoto on the "Ultraman" series, will be in charge of series composition and main scriptwriting. Newcomer actor Yuki Tozuka will play Tobise Yuuma.
The series airs every Saturday at 9am on TV Tokyo.
