Matsuyama Kenichi plays Katsuraba Toichiro, a senior in the legal profession to the protagonist Torako (played by Ito), in the NHK morning drama "Tora ni Wings" (General TV, Monday to Saturday, 8:00 a.m. and others), starring Ito Sari. Matsuyama, who has seen Ito's acting up close, spoke about how amazing she is.
Matsuyama said of Ito, who plays the lead role and shoots many scenes, "I think she was working hard on filming every day, but I've never seen her run out of steam. I think that's really amazing."
Matsuyama, who starred in the 2012 taiga drama "Taira no Kiyomori," experienced firsthand the difficulties of long-term filming at the time, and confessed, "When I run out of steam, I lose track of the direction of the role."
He continued, "I have experienced many times where I have had to correct it or have been unable to even think about it, but when I watch Sari's acting, I don't feel any hesitation," and praised her, saying, "When the age, environment, and position of the character change, like in a morning drama or historical drama, you have to act differently according to the age, but Sari acts differently without hesitation, which I think is really amazing, and I'm amazed at how much stamina she has."
