On September 19th, actor Sorimachi Takashi attended the Fuji TV Drama Live 2024 Autumn, a joint event for the October series of Fuji TV dramas, held at Fuji TV Wangan Studio (Koto-ku, Tokyo). There was a moment when he bowed to Shuri, the daughter of Mizutani Yutaka, with whom he co-starred for seven years in the TV Asahi drama Aibou.
Sorimachi co-stars with Sugino Yosuke in the detective drama Okura: Unsolved Case Investigation (Tuesdays at 9pm), which starts on October 8th. When asked by the MC, "You're quite good at playing detectives, aren't you?", he looked at Shuri, who was on stage with him that day, and said, "I've been taught a lot by my 'senior'..." Shuri and Sorimachi bowed to each other.
In the drama, the mismatched buddy team of a warm-hearted "Showa detective" played by Sorimachi and a cool "Reiwa detective" played by Sugino take on unsolved cases that have been shelved. He explained that with his "new partner" Sugino, "We are two detectives with different approaches, so it's dangerous to mix us up."
Sugino, who was acting alongside Sorimachi for the first time, said, "I was really nervous about whether it would be okay. On the first day, there was a scene where I had to handcuff Sorimachi, and I was like, "No way!" (laughs). It was my first time acting in a detective drama, and I couldn't get used to it, so I handcuffed Sorimachi many times, and I ended up leaving marks on my wrists, but he was always watching over me, so I thought he was kind." He expressed his gratitude to his senior.
However, in the conversation that followed, Sugino also revealed that he had turned down Sorimachi's invitation to go for a drive. When Sugino, who doesn't own a car, asked if he wanted one, Sorimachi encouraged him to buy one, saying, "I'll sit in the passenger seat. Let's go to the mountains!", and invited him to go for a drive, but Sugino flatly refused, saying, "No way." When Sugino said on the day, "I don't think we'll go with this group," the MC retorted, "You've got the nerve to say that, Sorimachi (laughs)!" On the other hand, when Sorimachi lost sight of the sponge for his microphone on stage, Sugino found it, showing their friendly interaction.
Also appearing on the day were Shiraishi Mai from "Okura." Also appearing on stage were Suzuka Hiroshi, Matsumoto Honoka, and Mikata Ryosuke from "Usouki Rhetoric" (Mondays 9pm), Shuri, Otozuki Kei, and Nakagawa Tsubasa from "Monster" (Mondays 10pm), Fujiwara Tatsuya, Hirose Alice, and Kohinata Fumiyo from "All-Area Anomaly Solution Room" (Wednesdays 10pm), Matsumoto Wakana, Tanaka Kei, and Fukazawa Tatsuya from "Watashi no Takaramono" (Thursdays 10pm), Miyase Ryuya and Ono Karin from "Snowdrop no Hatsukoi" (Tuesdays 11pm), and Suzuki Nobuyuki and Kurashina Kana from "Bantman" (Saturdays 11:40pm). The comedy duo "Untouchable" and announcer Niimi Yuka served as MCs.
