It has been announced that the live concert "SANKYO presents MACROSS 7 30th Anniv. FIRE BOMBER LIVE 2025 ~BURN! BURN! BURN!~" by the band "FIRE BOMBER" from the popular anime series "Macross" will be held at Toyosu PIT (Koto-ku, Tokyo) on February 21st and 22nd, 2025. Yoshiki Fukuyama, who sings for Basara Nekki, and Chie Kajiura, who sings for Mylene Flare Jenius, will appear. This will be the first time the two have performed together as "FIRE BOMBER" in about six years since "MACROSS CROSSOVER LIVE 2019 at Makuhari Messe" in 2019, and their first solo concert in about 13 years since "FIRE BOMBER 2012" in 2012.
"FIRE BOMBER" is also attracting attention for the fact that they will be producing their first new song in about 12 years, "BURN! BURN! BURN!". The jacket was designed by Haruhiko Mikimoto, the original character designer, and features Mylene with a gentle smile. The first production run will come in special packaging, with a case designed with Nekki Basara's sunglasses. The coupling tracks will include Nekki Basara's solo song "I am a ROCK" and Mylene's solo song "Regolith". The album will be released on October 30th.
Fukuyama commented, "I'm overwhelmed with emotion that another new FIRE BOMBER song is being released. We've sung many FIRE BOMBER songs in various places for the past 30 years, but we wanted to create another signature song. Due to the effects of COVID-19, we had some live shows where we couldn't sing out loud, but FIRE BOMBER isn't fun unless we all sing together. Basara says, 'Listen to my song!' but I think Basara seems happiest when others sing his song. I'm also looking forward to singing this new song with the audience at our live show in February." Chie Kajiura commented, "Congratulations on the 30th anniversary of Macross 7! I never imagined that a new song would be released at this historic milestone. I'm grateful to all the fans who have loved it for so long. So, what kind of song should I play for the 30th anniversary? What would she (Mylene) think now? I had a lot of ideas... but just one song... I sang a love song while imagining her as she has grown up and agonized over her worries. And then the live performance♪ I received a fair and loving offer from Flying Dog's Sasaki, and I felt rewarded when I performed there. (I am eager to perform in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka.) As you all know, I believe in delivering music freely and will always stick to it, so I think there will be pros and cons.
