Behind the scenes of the NHK Taiga drama "Hikaru Kimi e" (General TV, Sunday 8pm and others), starring Yoshitaka Yuriko, will be featured in the station's documentary program "100 Cameras" (General TV), which will be broadcast from 7:30pm on September 12th.

"100 Cameras" is a documentary that observes people's behavior by setting up 100 fixed cameras in interesting locations. This time, we followed the recording of the highlight scene of the 34th episode of "Hikaru Kimi e", "Awakening", which aired on September 8th, from the early stages of preparation. In the long history of Taiga dramas, "Hikaru Kimi e" is the first to focus on the aristocratic society of the Heian period. The cameras captured various professionals working together to overcome difficult challenges.

The cameras were set up in studios and rehearsal rooms, and the filming of the calligraphy scene of Yoshitaka, who plays the main character Mahiro (Murasaki Shikibu), was also observed. The show's MC, Wakabayashi Masayasu of the comedy duo Audrey, expressed surprise at the new facts about Yoshitaka, who had received praise from her calligraphy teacher.

The highlight of the 34th episode was the "Gokusui Banquet." It was hosted by Michinaga (Emoto Tasuku), and is said to have seen aristocrats reciting Chinese poetry while drinking sake on the banks of a winding river. How do they recreate the elegant world of the Heian period in the Reiwa era, and how do they get a river to flow through the studio? Unexpected events occur one after another on set, but the staff rack their brains to take on this unprecedented challenge...
