The final episode (episode 20) of the TV Asahi drama "I Will Bloom With You - Shinsengumi Youth Records" (Wednesday night at 12:15am, excluding some regions) will air from late night on September 11th. This will conclude the story of the Shinsengumi members, which has been aired for two seasons since April.

Fukakusa Kyojuro (Oku Tomoya)'s interactions with Sakamoto Ryoma (Sato Ryuji) backfire and he is suspected of being a spy due to a scheme by Suzuki Mikisaburo (Matsumoto Jin). However, Mikisaburo's older brother, Ito Koshitaro (Komakine Akita), reveals that Kamakiri Daisaku (Maeda Kentaro) is the "real traitor".

Although Kyojuro is cleared of suspicion, he is shocked to learn of Daisaku's betrayal. Okajuro is unable to hide his shock, and his vice-commander, Hijikata Toshizo (Sakamoto Shogo), gives the ruthless order to "kill Daisaku."

Ironically, in Kyoto, it is the day of the Gion Festival, when Daisaku and Okajuro had promised to "watch the fireworks together." As fireworks light up the night sky, the two cross swords.

The drama is a live-action adaptation of Tezuka Osamu's manga "Shinsengumi" (1963), which is said to be a hidden masterpiece. It is a youth ensemble drama in which fictional young soldiers Kamakiri Daisaku and Fukakusa Okajuro are tossed about by the waves of the times and face a cruel fate. It has been broadcast under the label of a "new period drama," incorporating elements not seen in previous period dramas, such as "innovative sword fighting" and "elegant sword dancing."
