Etsushi Toyokawa："We'll be catching up with 'AIBO' soon!" Confident in Season 2 of "No Activity"

Actor Etsushi Toyokawa appeared at a commemorative event for the release of "No Activity Season 2," a drama streamed by Amazon's video streaming service Prime Video, held in Tokyo on September 10. Toyokawa emphasized the "absurdity" of the work, saying, "Season 1 was silly and interesting, but Season 2 is so silly that it's hard to tell if it's interesting or not," and mentioned the name of the popular series, saying, "It's a defeat of Aibō. (This work) has made it to Season 2, so I'll catch up soon!" He spoke of the drama's perfection.

Toyokawa said about this series, "Honestly, like Season 1, it's a very delicate work for the actors who appear in it, as if I want you to watch it, but don't want you to watch it, and don't want you to watch it again, but I do want you to watch it." He added with humor, "It's a work in which we fulfilled each role, went all out, and did all kinds of embarrassing things and did our best, as if we were acting while showing our butts."

Nakamura Tomoya, who plays Toyokawa's "partner" in the film, said, "The scale has been increased in many ways from the previous work, but the tension of the conversations has been reduced," drawing laughter. He added, "I don't really get it, but I think it's a very ridiculous and interesting work, so I hope you will look forward to it."

In his final greeting, Toyokawa said, "I always wish I could travel back in time. I'm disappointed in myself that I can't do it in a situation like this (wry smile). This program has made me a little more mature, including in that way." He continued, "I think people who like this drama will really like it and will watch it over and over again. I think it will make people realize how wonderful laughter is, and how wonderful it is to laugh."

Also attending the event were Kimura Yoshino, Kiyohara Nana, Shiraishi Mai, Okabe Dai and Shimizu Hiroya from the comedy trio Hanako, and Jiro from the comedy duo Sisonne, who wrote the script.

"No Activity" is a comedy drama about a duo consisting of veteran detective Shingo Tokita (Toyokawa), who doesn't do any work at all, and his partner, the charming young detective Yu Shiina (Nakamura), who cause one unbelievable disturbance after another. Season 2 (6 episodes in total) will be exclusively released on Prime Video from September 13th.
