The Japan premiere of the film "Voltes V Legacy," a live-action version of the popular robot anime "Voltes V," which was made in the Philippines, will be held on September 29th at Marunouchi TOEI (Chuo-ku, Tokyo), and it has been announced that "Queen of Anime Songs" Horie Mitsuko, who sang the opening theme song for the anime, "Voltes V no Uta," will be appearing on stage. In addition to singing "Voltes V no Uta" live, she will talk about her journey with "Voltes V" over the nearly half century that she has traveled, including precious anecdotes from her visit to the Philippines. Executive producer Shirakura Shinichiro, who worked on the film, will also be on stage and will reveal the behind-the-scenes story of how the live-action version came to be.

"Voltes V Legacy" is a "Chodenji edited version" that has been re-edited to include scenes that were not included in the Philippine version of the film, "Voltes V Legacy," and will be shown for the first time in the world at the Japan premiere. A dubbed version will be screened at the Japan premiere. Release date: October 18th.

A prequel to "Voltes V Legacy", "Voltes V Legacy Prequel 'Before the Dawn'", has been released on YouTube. The episode is about Ned Armstrong, the father of Steve Armstrong, the main character of "Voltes V Legacy", and contains many important episodes that lead to the main story of "Voltes V Legacy", such as the reason for the birth of Voltes V and the secret story of the main character's birth.

The live-action version was produced by GMA Network, a terrestrial television station in the Philippines. A movie and a 90-episode TV series were produced. All episodes of the TV series were broadcast in the Philippines in 2023. A TV series specially edited for Japan will be broadcast on TOKYO MX this fall. The original 90-episode version for the Philippines is also scheduled to be released in Japan.

"Voltes V" is a legendary robot anime that aired in Japan from 1977 to 1978. The story depicts the five characters, the protagonist Kenichi, the brothers Gozo, Mine Ippei, and Oka Megumi, piloting the combined robot, the Super Electromagnetic Machine Voltes V, and fighting against the invading forces of the planet Boazan, led by Prince Heinel, who has flown to Earth. The story depicts the separation of parents and children, shocking developments surrounding the protagonist, confrontations with his half-brother, resistance to oppression and revolution, and has been highly praised overseas for its high level of drama. It also became a hot topic in the Philippines, where the song "Voltes V Song" sung by Horie also became popular.
