Actor Nakagawa Taishi attended the preview screening of the completed drama W Golden Kamuy - Hokkaido Tattooed Prisoner Battle Arc (WOWOW) held in Tokyo. Nakagawa, who plays the elite second lieutenant Koito Otonoshin, born in Satsuma, commented on the visual appearance of his role as Koito.

Koito, played by Nakagawa, is a second lieutenant in the 7th Division who admires Lieutenant Tsurumi (Tamaki Hiroshi). He is a character with excellent physical abilities and a master of Jihen-ryu swordsmanship, known for his one-hit kill technique. When it was announced that Nakagawa would be playing Koito, the high level of perfection of his visuals became a hot topic.

Nakagawa commented, "We started by working on each aspect of the visual, discussing them one by one. First of all, I think it was the eyebrows. Eyebrows are very distinctive, so we put a lot of effort into them."

"When I first put on those eyebrows, I looked in the mirror and thought, 'It's Koito!' I know I'm just blowing my own trumpet here, but I'm really grateful for those eyebrows," he said confidently.

The preview screening was also attended by Yamazaki Kento, Yamada Anna, Yamoto Yuma, Yanagi Shuntaro, Shiono Akiku, Sakurai Yuki, Ikeuchi Hiroyuki, Tamaki Hiroshi, and Tachi Hiroshi.

"Golden Kamuy" is based on the popular manga (2014-2022) by Noda Satoru, which has sold over 29 million copies (as of July). Set in Hokkaido at the end of the Meiji era, the story depicts a survival battle in the wilderness with a group of quirky characters fighting over a huge amount of buried Ainu gold.

The movie starring Yamazaki Kento was released in January this year and became a hit, grossing over 3 billion yen. The sequel drama will feature the same main cast and will be broadcast and streamed exclusively on WOWOW from 10pm on October 6th (9 episodes in total).
