The first episode of "Sayonara Lala," an original TV anime commemorating the 15th anniversary of Kinema Citrus, titled "Lala the Mermaid," will air on TOKYO MX at 12:30 AM on July 5th. Based on the fairy tale "The Little Mermaid," the anime tells the story of Lala the Mermaid, who is resurrected 200 years later in modern-day Lake Biwa.
Princess Lala, a mermaid born to the King of the Sea, falls in love with a human who lives on land. This love is forbidden in the mermaid world.
The anime is directed by Takashi Koide, who hails from Shiga Prefecture, with Anna Kawahara handling series composition and Shiori Tani in charge of character design. Hana Hishikawa will voice Lala, and Nana Kawaishi will voice Mari Otsu, among others.
