MANTANWEB interviewed Zenseki Ren, the main vocalist and rapper of the three-member idol unit "Furucharge," which originated from a gas station.
The National Federation of Petroleum Commercial Associations (Zenkokuren) and the 47 Prefectural Petroleum Associations have proposed the "Full Tank & Kerosene Plus 1 Can Campaign" (Full Tank Campaign) to encourage consumers across the country to fill up their car's fuel tank when it's about half full, and to prepare an extra can of kerosene for heating, for peace of mind in the event of a disaster. As a new measure for this campaign, the industry's first idol unit originating from a gas station was born.
The unit leader is Ren Zenishi, the official character of the "Full Tank Movement" who is in charge of main vocals and rap. Together with cool, artisan-like dancer Button Michishima and soothing idol sub-vocalist Hitoka Toyu, they will communicate the importance of "stockpiling fuel" through song and dance.
