The film "Masquerade Night" (directed by Suzuki Masayuki, to be released in 2021), starring Takuya Kimura, will premiere on terrestrial television on December 27th during Fuji TV's "Saturday Premium" slot (Saturdays at 9pm). The film is a sequel to "Masquerade Hotel," which was released in 2019 and starred Kimura, and is based on the third novel of the same name in Higashino Keigo's "Masquerade" series (Shueisha Bunko). Following on from the previous film, it follows detective Nitta Kosuke (played by Kimura) as he disguises himself as a hotel employee and goes undercover at the Hotel Cortesia Tokyo.
One day, the police receive an anonymous fax claiming that the culprit behind the mysterious murder of a woman in an apartment in Tokyo will be appearing at a countdown party, commonly known as "Masquerade Night," to be held at Hotel Cortesia Tokyo on New Year's Eve, December 31st.
On New Year's Eve, at the request of the investigation headquarters, Detective Nitta of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department's First Investigative Division goes undercover and once again works as a front desk clerk at the hotel. He then works together with Yamagishi Naomi (Masami Nagasawa), an excellent hotel employee who has been promoted from front desk clerk to concierge, to solve the case.
There's only a little time left until the party begins. All 500 attendees are in costumes, hiding their true identities, and one after another, mysterious people appear. The time limit is fast approaching. With no clues and limited time, will Nitta and Naomi be able to unmask the brutal murderer, whose face and appearance are unknown?
