A 30-second trailer has been released for "After the Quake" (directed by Tsuyoshi Inoue, scheduled for release on October 3rd), a live-action film starring Masaki Okada, Yui Narumi, Daichi Watanabe, and Koichi Sato, based on a short story by Haruki Murakami that was published after the 1995 Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake.

The film is based on the short story collection "God's Children All Dance" (Shincho Bunko), published in 2000. The film is based on four stories from the book, but with some changes to the time period, and has been reborn as a story spanning 30 years from 1995 to 2025. While sharing the same story as the drama "After the Earthquake" broadcast on NHK in April, new scenes connecting the four main characters have been added, and the film will be released with editing unique to the film version.

The trailer begins with a mysterious silhouette and a duo walking underground in Tokyo. The protagonists from each era, Komura (Okada) in 1995, Junko (Narumi) in 2011, Yoshiya (Watanabe) in 2020, and Katagiri (Sato) in 2025, all have somewhat anxious expressions. Junko, crying, says, "I feel so empty," revealing her loneliness and anguish. Meanwhile, a giant "Frog" suddenly appears in front of Katagiri. As Frog (voiced by Non) says, "The world can change in any way depending on your imagination," the refrigerator shakes, the mug transforms into a box, and a surreal world unfolds. The story is about how the stories of the four people, who at first glance seem to be separate, will connect.
