The trailer for the film "Yagate Umi ni Naru" (directed by Oki Masato), starring actor Miura Takahiro and also featuring Takeda Kohei and Sakihi Miyu, was released on August 20th.
The film is a human drama set in Oki's hometown, projecting his own life into it. Etajima City is located in the Seto Inland Sea archipelago in western Hiroshima Prefecture. Shuji (Miura), born there and never having left the island, has lived a lackluster life ever since. Feeling responsible for his father's sudden death several years ago, Shuji has always lived a lackluster life on the island. One day, he learns on television that his childhood friend Kazuya (Takeda), who has moved to Tokyo to become a successful film director, is shooting a film set in his hometown of Etajima. At the same time, Sachie (Sakihi), a classmate whom the two had feelings for, is also watching the news. As the lives of these three people intersect once again, filming begins on the film directed by Kazuya. It is also to fulfill a wish left behind by Kazuya's late mother...
Shuji, Kazuya, and Yukie's high school days are played by Gotou Hinata, Ichimura Yuta, and Kawaguchi Mana. The theme song is "Otona ni Nattara" (When I Become an Adult), written specifically for the film by the rock band Cho☆Shakai Sandal.
The film will be screened in advance at the Hatchoza Theater in Hiroshima City from August 29th, and at the Kure Popolo Theater in Kure City from September 5th. It will be released nationwide from October 24th.
