The final episode (episode 10) of the TBS Sunday drama "GIFT," starring actor Shinichi Tsutsumi, will air on June 14th at 9 PM. Ahead of the final episode's broadcast, photos from the wrap-up of filming have been released, featuring Tsutsumi, along with co-stars Yuki Yamada, Kasumi Arimura, and Kyohei Honda.
Yamada, who played the role of Bulls' ace, Ryo Miyashita, and led the filming, spoke passionately about his feelings, saying, "There were so many things I received from Mr. Tsutsumi and so many things I want to leave behind. It was the same from everyone on the Bulls, Sharks, and Snakes, and I felt that this was a 'gift,' just like the title of this drama suggests. And above all, wheelchair rugby was so much fun!"
Tsutsumi, who wrapped up filming alongside the Bulls members, commented on the approximately five-month-long shoot, saying, "It was a very demanding schedule, but seeing how cheerful everyone on the Bulls team was and how hard they worked on each and every scene made me determined to give it my all as well." Yamada, who had finished filming earlier, also made a surprise appearance, and all the Bulls players gathered to witness the lead actor's wrap-up.
Arimura, who played the role of Kiriyama Hitoka, also wrapped up filming after a long period of shooting for the match scenes, and spoke about her feelings for the cast members who played the athletes, saying, "When I think about everyone, tears well up in my eyes for reasons I don't even understand myself. I am so happy that we were able to reach that level of relationship. All the kind words and actions I received from everyone have become a lifelong treasure for me."
Honda, who played the role of Keijiro Asatani, said, "I started learning about wheelchair rugby in July of last year, and I received so many gifts from everyone. The wonderful cast and staff were always giving their all, passionate, and cheerful, and seeing them motivated me to do my best and run to the very end." He reflected on the more than six months of practice and filming, and finished filming with a smile.
The drama is set in the world of wheelchair rugby, a parasport, and tells the story of Fumito Gotetsu (played by Tsutsumi), a genius astrophysicist, who finds answers to difficult problems facing a weak team, while learning the importance of friends and family.
