The eighth episode of the drama series "Galaxy Vote" (Kansai TV/Fuji TV, Mondays at 10 PM), starring actress Haru Kuroki, aired on June 8th. In addition to voice actress Noriko Hidaka, other legendary voice actors made voice appearances, causing a stir on social media.
◇The following contains spoilers.
Hidaka, known for her role as Minami Asakura, the heroine of the popular anime "Touch," appeared as voice actor Hikaru Shiratori. Hikaru was portrayed as the voice of Fururun, a character from the anime "Fururun Kukka!" that appeared in the show. Furthermore, the voice of Kukka, Fururun's partner, was provided by a voice actress named Yoshie Gojo. Yoshie's voice was played by Mina Tominaga, known for her role as Katsuo in the popular anime "Sazae-san."
In the scene where Mari (Kuroki) and Akari (Noro Kayo) are watching an anime, Fururun and Kukka are shown singing in unison, "Energy! Courage! Let the flowers bloom!"
Viewers were surprised to see Tominaga's name in the end credits. Social media was abuzz with comments such as, "I had to do a double-take when I saw Tominaga Mina's name," "I thought I saw Tominaga Mina listed as a voice actor! Serious casting," "Was it Tominaga Mina who was acting opposite Noriko Hidaka in the anime?", "Just the casting of these voice actors and the effort put into it shows how serious this drama is," and "What a star-studded cast."
The drama is an "election entertainment" story in which Mari Hoshino recruits Akari Tsukioka, a bar owner with no political experience, to run for governor of Tokyo, and takes on the gubernatorial election as her campaign strategist.
